Milk and Cream details and information

Animal health is top priority as it relates to our health as we enjoy milk, butter, cheese, kefir and so much more from their delicious milk. So for optimal health, we harvest our own hay for winter feeding from fields free of chemical sprays; never use antibiotic, hormones, or chemical wormers; and Cows have free choice of organic minerals to balance their nutritional needs. One, of many, reasons to drink raw milk is that it is a Living Food containing beneficial bacteria, enzymes, vitamins and immunoglobulins. Raw milk actually boosts the human immune system, rather than destroying gut health like pasteurized and homogenized milk will do. Raw milk is packed with conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Studies show this heart-healthy fat will protect against heart attacks. Butter is the best source of CLA and grass-fed butter is 5x higher in CLA than commercial butter.

Each jar of our milk has cream that rises to the top, perfect for butter making. No cream is removed from our milk, so you can still receive whole-milk benefits while using some of the cream top in other foods and beverages and to make butter. Remember, cream = butter, ice cream, sour cream, cream cheese, crème fraiche, and dozens of other foods, Yum!

By participating in our herd share program, you will have the opportunity to enjoy fresh, raw, locally-produced milk. This milk is never pasteurized and therefore retains all of the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes some of which are destroyed in the pasteurization process. This milk is also not homogenized which means the milk is in its natural state and is therefore more digestible. Your milk will be waiting for you in wide-mouth half gallon glass jars from which it is easy to skim the cream if you so choose. Remember, cream = butter, ice cream, sour cream, cream cheese, crème fraiche, Yum! For those needing to avoid Beta Casein protein (BCM7) in their milk due to allergies or -intolerances, we offer certified A2A2 milk from Brown Swiss cows.
